How To Create A Brand That Tells Your Story AND Resonates With Your Ideal Clients
Whether you are years, months or even days into your business I want you to take a moment to reflect on why you started this business adventure of yours. Through the hustle, day-to-day tasks, and flux between surviving and thriving, there is a life-giving story that fired your soul to take the leap and start this heartfelt brand of yours. Can you still feel it, friend? Can you feel the why behind this brand you built and do you feel confident you can share your story with your ideal clients?
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve chatted with incredibly talented entrepreneurs just like you who are downright frustrated! They want to create a brand that tells their story, honors their heart, and reflects the core of their work. But they want that heartfelt brand to also capture the attention of their ideal clients, and they’re just not sure how to do both at the same time.
Trust me, I get it. Figuring out how to speak to your ideal client while staying true to your own story as a creative takes some thoughtful work. But I believe there are three ways to overcome the frustration and create an intentional, elevated brand that tells your story AND captures your ideal client’s attention.
FIND THAT SWEET SPOT
Think about that space where your values and your ideal client’s values overlap. I like to call this your sweet spot. Knowing this space will enable you to create services and experiences that stay true to what matters most to you, while also offering what your ideal clients want to see from you the most.
Think of this as a Venn diagram. First, identify the core values of your brand – what matters most to you, what ideals or principles are you building your brand upon? Then, identify what values matter most to your ideal client. Look for those values that overlap and when you find that space, use that insight to craft an overarching message that inspires connection through those shared values.
TELL YOUR STORY
Remember, you are your biggest success story! If you can take your story and use it to show your ideal client how you can help them achieve their biggest goals, you now have built a connection that allows you to share your heart and fill their needs.
We want to make your ideal client think, “If she can do that for her own business and life, then imagine what she could do for me!” Which leads me to how to share your story.
MAKE YOUR IDEAL CLIENTS THE HERO
We want to create a connection with you and your ideal client by sharing similar values and showing your clients where you’ve been and how you got to where you are. But if you create a personal brand that keeps your story at the very center of it all, you unintentionally create a brand that leaves no space for your ideal client to join you there. This is where you need to strategically focus on making your ideal client the hero of your story!
As the professional your clients already trust your job is to help support them in their journey, whether they’re a bride-to-be, a fellow business owner, or a corporate client. By showing your ideal clients how important they are in your story, you’ve now built a brand around those you want to serve.
Friends, I wholeheartedly believe you don’t have to sacrifice parts of your own story as a creative in order to build a strategic, profitable brand. I’ve seen the frustration with my sweet talented branding clients and together, we’ve used these strategies to confidently share their story and reach their dreamy ideal clients!
If you’re ready to create an intentional, elevated brand that tells your story while in the same breath, captures your ideal client’s attention I want to hear from you. I want to help you confidently go from frustrated to thriving and profitable.
I’m currently accepting new branding clients for late summer and early fall, and it would be a joy to craft a visual brand that reflects the heart of your life’s work.
